the Napa Valley School of Massage Catalog.

The Napa Valley School of Massage was founded in 1998 by Dr. and Mrs. Andrews.  They realized the importance of teaching restorative and healing massage to advanced karate and yoga practitioners.  The program is also open to qualified individuals who are interested in a professional career in restorative massage therapy.   The Napa Valley School of Massage is approved by the Board of Private Post-Secondary Education of the State of California.  Upon successful completion, students will be granted a prestigious certificate in restorative therapy from the Napa Valley School of Massage.

Instruction includes the art of restorative massage, anatomy, physiology, medical gymnastics, hydro-therapy and hygiene.  Much of this knowledge was derived from the outstanding work of fencing master Per Henrick Ling (1776-1838), the founder of Swedish Massage and from the ancient Japanese art of Seifukujitsu as practiced by Henry Seishiro Okazaki (1890-1951), the founder of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu.
